How do I report a fake ad mentioning Martin Lewis or MoneySavingExpert?

Updated over 3 months ago

Recently, you may have noticed that MSE founder Martin Lewis's face has been plastered all over the internet, seemingly advertising binary trading, energy products, PPI companies, and mortgage brokers. We want to make it clear that none of these scam ads are genuine. Martin doesn't do ads, and never endorses specific investments.

The main way you can tell if something mentioning MSE or Martin is fraudulent is that you can't find the deal mentioned on the main MoneySavingExpert.com website.

But general signs of a scam include unrealistic promises of quick and huge returns when you invest a small amount of money. £250 is a common amount that scammers will ask for upfront, but if you pay it, they'll usually come back for more.

If you come across any suspicious ads, please let us know at fakead@moneysavingexpert.com. It would be helpful if you could include a screenshot of the ad in your email.
