Hopefully the system update only introduced new information that is accurate. But, if there’s information you don’t recognise, or that you think is wrong, you can use the ‘Need some help?’ support button that appears under the information when you view your Experian Credit Report in Credit Club, and Experian will be able to help you identify or dispute the information. If you dispute it, Experian will then have 28 days to respond to you with its findings.
Alternatively, you can contact the lender concerned directly to dispute the information that has been provided to Experian.
If you do get something corrected with the lender directly, it’s worth checking that the change is also carried across to your Equifax and CallCredit credit reports, if relevant (not all lenders share information with to all three agencies). Any corrections made by the lender directly can take 4-6 weeks to update and appear on your report(s).
