If you live in England, Wales, or Scotland, you may have heard about the energy Price Cap. It's a limit set by Ofgem on the amount of energy suppliers can charge you per unit of gas and electricity. This applies to both standard variable rate tariffs and default tariffs. The purpose of the Price Cap is to protect consumers from overpaying for their energy and to ensure that prices are fair. You can find full info in our What is the energy Price Cap? guide.
