Basically, it's a sweetener for you to switch tariff!
If we can switch you to a new tariff through Cheap Energy Club, MoneySavingExpert gets a referral fee.
To encourage switching (ie, to encourage you to get a cheaper deal), we give £20 of this fee to you for dual-fuel switches (£10 for single fuel). You don't usually get this if you go to other comparison sites, nor if you switch directly with an energy company.
We don't put the tariffs that pay us at the top - we sort deals by cheapest to most expensive, though we do include the MSE cashback in your saving, where it's offered. If you prefer to see results without the MSE cashback included in the savings, you can do this in the filters at the top of your results.
