How do I find my MPAN/MPRN?

Updated over a month ago

Your MPAN (electric) and MPRN (gas) are needed by your new supplier to ensure it switches the correct supply for you. It's worth noting that these numbers differ from your serial number which will include letters and numbers.

Your electricity MPAN

Your MPAN (Meter Point Administration Number), sometimes known as a ‘supply number’ or ‘S number’ is your 21-digit electricity supply number. It consists of numbers only and no letters. You’ll usually only need to give the last 13 digits. It looks like this (the bottom row):

You should be able to find it either by looking at your bill or contacting your current supplier. If you're not sure who your supplier is, see our ‘How do I find my provider?’ FAQ.

Your gas MPRN

Your MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number) is your 6-10 digit gas supply number and will look like this:

You can find out who supplies your gas, and the MPRN, by using the Meter Point Administration Service’s online tool Find My Supplier, or by calling 0870 608 1524.
